Business offers closeout products

EA Bargain Online & Wholesale Distribution Center offers a wide range of closeout products from major pharmacies.

President Emad Abukheit said his company offers much more than over-the-counter remedies.

Customers don’t have to buy in large quantities to get discounts on the new, name-brand items at wholesale prices, he said.

For years, he has been selling products online and wholesale out of a business location in the Benvenue Shopping Plaza.

He recently opened a larger location at 2760 N. Wesleyan Blvd., which has a retail showroom in which people can walk in and buy the products. The 6,500-square-foot building includes a warehouse in the back and a 3,000-square-foot showroom up front.

Q: What services or products do you provide?

We have name brand products, like fragrances. All the stuff we have is original, no Chinese-made stuff. We get items from overruns, cancelled promotions, buyouts, and some dented boxes, stuff like that. But all of the products are brand new. We have over-the-counter medicine, hair products, fragrances, nail products, even food, like cereal, name-brand cosmetics. You can buy household supplies, electronics. We did online and wholesale when we started. This is our third location in Rocky Mount. Now we’ve combined everything together where we have a bigger facility where we have a wholesale and online warehouse in the back and also have showroom in the front. A lot of people used to (incorrectly) think we were like a dollar store and did closeouts from China. You know, the quality is way different between the Chinese (products) and what we retail here in the states. Every week, we try to get a new truckload of products, so every week you will see different stuff from as far away as Florida, California and New York. Every region has different type of stuff.

A: Company president Emad Abukheit, vice president Yaheya Ghaleb.

A: Four.

Q: When were you established?

A: We just moved into our new location on April 1.

Q: What’s your business philosophy?

A: Sell more, less profit. What I mean by that is sell more volume at a lower profit margin. It helps the community. You get a value. We do offer special services here. Say someone sees an item and is interested in buying 60 pieces. We do negotiate prices with customers, so it is kind of one-on-one customer service, a friendly relationship with the customer.
