Fried flounder and new seafood take-out in Oak Island – Port City ...

Some of the best food news comes from Oak Island, where Pelican Seafood owners Tony and Jeanne-Darc Wehbe are opening their second location by Easter and serving a common fish in an unconventional way.

Pelican Seafood II, in the previous Beverage Barn (6235 Oak Island Dr.), will offer a fresh seafood market and seafood sandwiches and meals like the original Pelican Seafood (4322 Long Beach Road, Southport/Oak Island). The new shop, however, will have take-out and drive-thru service rather than sit-down service. Additionally, fresh produce and other groceries will be available.
