You’re still assaulted by waves of space flies but their formations are far more exotic than before, with their intended route indicated before their appearance by neon blue trails - while orange boxes show where they’ll enter. The blue trails before a formation’s appearance is particularly inspired: they’re ostensibly there to help, but really they’re simply to induce panic. As in Gaplus you can also capture enemies by creating a black hole which sucks in any nearby bugs and makes them fight for you. Many formations are also unwisely accompanied by a smart bomb. In DX they're also often joined by Galaga Leaders and Mid-Bosses and if you take them out their whole squad goes with them.
