4-H Club News: Freedom Flickers
The June meeting of the Freedom Flickers 4-H club was held on June 6 at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
The meeting was called to order by Kylee King. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Caroline Hippen. Roll call was answered by 5 members to the question, "What is your favorite summer activity?" The treasurer's report was given by Olivia Young.
Old business included signing up for Fashion Review, Share the Fun, Pride of Iowa and Quiz Bowl. Fair information and fair tags were also handed out. A report on the butterfly garden at the fairgrounds was given.
Freedom Flicker members Hannah Drivage, Hannah Fritz, Megan Hughes, McKenna Mitchell, Jenna Short and Katie Short helped Mrs. Scholten's 24 students from her second grade class plant flowers, participate in crafts and other activities.
New business included a report from the fair booth and parade float committee. Sign up for hosting gin the 4-H building was discussed. The club are in charge of cleaning up the 4-H Building at the end of the fair. Dates from the 4-H calendar were read. The 4-H pledge was led by Jenna Short.
The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. on July 24.
