WoW Rookie: Logging into patch 4.2 for the first time
As we've beaten into the ground at this point, valor points were converted into justice points. If you would have amassed over 4,000 justice points after the conversion, the overage has been converted into cash money instead. That money will be waiting in your mailbox. You get 47 silver for each extra point -- not a bad jackpot if you were already maxed out on points. The keyring was removed from the game. No more keyring. If you had keys in your keyring and those keys are no longer useful, you receive 2 gold, 50 silver for each of those keys. It's not a whopping amount, but it's a nice touch. The mail you receive says those keys were mysteriously floating in the nether. I kind of wonder how they got there, but I always like more free gold. Anybody have a good guide for how many marks of the world tree you should have by the end of each day? At the third day here I think my guys have 23 (20 having been spent to get to the first new quest area). I think at the end of the first day I had 12 (from the intial quest line and 3 dailies - one a two parter, there are only 2 available at start at the sanctuary of Malorne), then 16 the second day (the extra 4 again being from the 3 dailies).
By the way, you may not know it, but the first quest area you can open up on the third day of dailies lets you buy (with gold) an agility ring (with a lot of hit on it), a caster neck, a strength dps neck, and plate tanking boots. So, don't go spending your JP/gold on getting those things elsewhere.

turn in 20 to open new zone inside (molten front)
then recoup 15 and earn 10 more.
Sitting at 25 atm, end of day 3.
I am not sure how many more per day until I can open the next area, which takes 150.
Will find out tomorrow, day 4.
Per the tanking boots, the Twilight Highland rep ones are better, if you want to mange your efforts, at least for pally (go mastery).
Darkmoon Deck Cards can be created by Scribes (characters with the Inscription profession). Every time a Scribe makes a card, they get a random one out of several "decks". These cards can be traded, and Scribes often swap cards to get a full deck. A deck consists of the following cards:
Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Ace.
Once you have all eight of the same set, you can combine them into a "Deck".

The world, surprisingly, did not end -- well, end again, I guess, since the cataclysm and all. Patch 4.2 went surprisingly well, with only a few issues with a couple addons, highlighting the fact that the changes made to the WoW interface did not catch

Reader UI of the Week is a little different this week, considering it is patch time, which can be brutal on players who use a sizable amount of addons. For this edition of Reader UI of the Week, were running through thepatch 4.2 UI changes and giving you the tips and info you need to get up and running faster then ever before. This patchs UI changes were not as substantial (on the user end, anyway) as in the previous patch, so hopefully things wont be too difficult this time around.
The first thing you must always do in a patch day scenario is back up youwow tip addonr interface. This is an easy thing to do — just copy the WTF and Interface folders from your WoW directory on your computer, and put those copies in a happy, safe place. Sure, you may need to do some tweaking and changing back to your profiles if you ever lose your UI, but it is better than starting over completely from scratch. Replace your backup frequently, or whenever you make some big change to your setup.
With the new patch comes new interface elements, including theDungeon Journal and theWar Games tab built in to the PVP window. There are also some quality-of-life changes dealing with the UI and a bombshell feature inchanging the order of your characters on the character select screen. No joke — this is one of the best things to happen in WoW.
Getting to the Dungeon Journal is easy. Either press the new button on the mini menu (its got the little computer icon for latency, the spellbook, etc.), or press Shift J to open up the menu. From there, you can tab between dungeons and raids and get all of the information you need on the bosses in whichever dungeon or raid you pick. While the Dungeon Journal wont tell you how to beat the boss or how to deal with boss abilities, Comments 340 . it will let you know what youre up against. Tell a man to not stand in the fire and he wont burn for a day; teach a man to not stand in the fire and he wont burn forever.
War Games was a feature introduced awhile back, but it was a convoluted mess to get going with. Players who wanted to partake in War Games had to form up their groups and then input … get ready for it … text commands to get the whole thing up and running. What is this, Jun• 15•11 . the 20th century? Ugh.
