Government presses Moroccans to vote
Morocco’s King Mohammed won a landslide victory in a referendum on Friday over constitutional reforms he proposed in response to pro-democracy rallies inspired by the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, according to preliminary results.
Interior minister Taib Cherkaoui said 98.5 per cent of voters had backed the new constitution, according to a count of votes from 94 per cent of polling booths.
